My week started with a great meeting with an amazing group of Guides and Senior Section members who are travelling to Denmark to take part in the Region’s Adventures in Copenhagen event in celebration of the Senior Section Centenary.  Flights have been booked, accommodation has been chosen, excursions and activities have been explored.  Everyone is get very excited.

Not just a brilliant opportunity for the girls, but for leaders too; one of the trip leaders is using the event to gain her International Going Away Module.

Since the New Year, I have met with a few volunteers about the possibility of them taking on a new role.  We sometimes we’re so wrapped up in our weekly routine we forget to think about whether we are actually enjoying what we do.  Take a moment… do you still enjoy your weekly unit meetings?  What about considering a change of sections to give yourself a new perspective or challenge?  What about a district, division or county role?  Is there an area of the Girlguiding programme that you’d like to be more involved in?  Being a Girlguiding volunteer is your hobby so make sure you enjoy yourself, whatever you do!
