Leaders’ Day was a fabulous success. I hope those who attended appreciated the great goodie bags and will show them off with pride – I love mine! Sorry – it’s a bit creased because I’ve been using it!!
I attended the Walking session in the morning. We now have a group of keen leaders who want to gain their Level 1 Walking Scheme qualification, so they can take their girls out of the unit meeting place into lowland areas. In the afternoon I attended the Supporting Young Leaders in your Unit session and picked up some great tips on how to help the four Young Leaders we have in the two units I work with.
I can really appreciate why the trainers need to know how many will be in their session and what their guiding experience is… If they didn’t, it would be like me arriving at a Brownie meeting and not knowing how many girls to expect, how old they might be and what they’d done as a Brownie before!
The County Chairs had their bi-monthly meeting on Wednesday, and we took time to catch up on what everyone has been up to, and what they are working on at the moment. Plans are motoring on for our Little ‘t’ Trainers Afternoon Tea later this month, County Planning day & County Weekend in September and our B-P Adventure Weekend in October.
I’m looking forward to the Bank Holiday weekend and spending some time with my extended family. I’ll let you know how we get on with the Come Dine with Me buffet and the teenage-devised quiz.
