Week 15: Finally

Week 15: Finally

It is the final week of #FindOutFriday !!

If you are following everything we’ve covered the past 14 weeks then what a happy, safe, and thriving unit you will have!

And we are less likely to:

  • Encounter a complaint
  • Encounter a data breach
  • Increase the risk of an accident occurring
  • Be following any local “bye-laws”

If a complaint or incident does occur, this will be investigated. If a volunteer is found to not be following policy or procedure, depending on the severity, this could impact your volunteer status.

You can find a roundup of each week’s post on our website under News > #FindOutFriday or by clicking this link: https://girlguidinglancsse.org.uk/find-out-friday/

Week 14: Awards

Week 14: Awards

Week 14 of #FindOutFriday is all about awards.

Take time to give your thanks in a way that is appropriate to the volunteer and what they’ve done to make guiding happen. Remember to recognise volunteers’ achievement, outstanding support and of course their service to guiding! As a county we have over 6000 combined years of service… wow!

But don’t just leave the praise to the volunteers, recognise the girls in your units or local area that have done something special too!

More awards can be found here: https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/information-for-volunteers/running-your-unit/managing-your-team/awards-and-recognition/

Week 12: Learning

Week 12: Learning

Learning is our topic for week 12 of #FindOutFriday

We know that the whole charity, especially the girls, benefit when you – the people who make guiding happen – are given chances to learn new things and grow.

Now what will it be? Ready to learn about the new programme? Pick up first aid? Become the best leader possible? Or start to help others to learn? The choice is up to you.

See what’s available on the learning platform here: https://learning.girlguiding.org.uk

Information on mandatory Safeguarding training can be found here: https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/information-for-volunteers/learning-and-development/a-safe-space-training/

Week 10: Residentials

Week 10: Residentials

Week 10 of #FindOutFriday is all things Residential.

To run your own residential event, someone in your event leadership team must hold, or be working towards, the relevant modules of the going away with scheme. Speak to your commissioner about completing the scheme as early as possible.

Get in touch with Chris Joyce, our county Residential Coordinator for advice or support.

Week 9: Programme

Week 9: Programme

It’s week 9 of #FindOutFriday and this week is all about the Programme.

The activities and badges are organised under six themes in every section, from Rainbows to Rangers.

The activities in the programme support every girl to develop in line with our educational framework and have been designed to support five key elements, known as the Five Essentials.

Get in touch with our county Badge Secretary, Lynn Smith at the Springfield shop.
