1st Heywood Brownies have been awarded the President’s Cup for having a brilliant programme this year!

Each year all Guiding groups in Heywood write a report of what they’ve been up to. These reports are then judged by Trefoil Guild Members who decide which group has had the most varied, beneficial and interesting year. That group wins the President’s Cup.

The Brownie Pack which meets at Crimble Croft Community Centre have had an exciting year involving lots of experiences, adventures and activities set to build on confidence, team work, education and overall fun.

The Brownies, aged 7 to ten, have done so much over the last year, including various Brownie badges (including Collector and Friend to Animals); learned new sewing skills and created mascots for an arts event; held a beach party; performed in their very own Brownies Got Talent night; and a Record Breakers Fundraiser!

Fay Nicholls, age 10 said “We are a great Brownie Pack! I enjoy being creative and having fun with lots of new friends. Everyone is kind to each other and going to Brownies makes me feel good.”

Tawny Owl, Katie Haigh, said “We like to give the girls lots of different experiences as well as including educational and confidence building sessions. We try to make these fun, so the girls can enjoy them and also take away what they have learned. It feels great when we see the girls smiling and enjoying Brownies. That’s what it’s all about after all”
