A Brownie from 9th Heywood Brownies, who meet at St. Margaret’s Church, has been crowned ‘Brownie of the Year’.
Darcie Kilcourse, age 9, won the award for being an active Member of the Pack, remembering her equipment each week, being helpful and for great attendance.

Darcie said: “I enjoy being a Brownie, and didn’t expect to be named Brownie of the Year – but I knew I’d tried my hardest. We always get to play fun games, and get to do fun things for our badges – I really enjoyed the Chocolate Challenge we did!”

Leader, Alyson Quinn said: “Darcie is a great Brownie! She has gained so much confidence over the last two years. She is a Sixer and helps to look after the younger girls. Well done Darcie!”
