Girls from the 8th Oldham Rainbows have returned home from an exhilarating day trip to Waddow Hall – a Girlguiding activity centre in Clitheroe.

The girls, aged 5 to 7 who meet weekly in Moorside, enjoyed exciting adventures including outdoor giant games, alien orienteering, pond dipping, and their highlight of the day caving.

Olivia Doogue, age 6, said: “I liked going on the trampoline and finding aliens. I would really like to go to Waddow again with all my Rainbow friends.

One of the group’s leaders, Jennifer O’Neill, said: “The trip to Waddow Hall was a great chance for the girls to get away and enjoy each other’s company in a safe space”.

She added “All the girls told me how much they enjoyed themselves and they can’t wait to decide where they want to go next and plan another adventure”.

Adventures like this are just part of the range of activities open to girls and young women through Girlguiding, which gives them their own space to grow in confidence, raise their aspirations and have fun.
