Leaders and members of the St Margaret’s Guides are celebrating after receiving the highly acclaimed Presidents Cup.
Julie Holt (Guide Leader) from Hopwood, received the award on behalf of her group at the first Division Meeting of the Year from Heywoods Division President at St Luke’s Scout and Guide Hut on Starkey Street.
Every year Rainbow, Brownie and Guide units submit their Annual Report (a diary of events over the last 12 months) to the Division Commissioner.
The reports are then sent, without unit names on, to the Division President. She reads through the reports and decides which one she thinks looks the most varied, diverse, fun etc.
St Margaret’s Leader Julie Holt said “As leader of St Margaret’s Guides I was thrilled to bits to receive the award and couldn’t wait to tell the girls and my Assistant Leader”
The Guides were a buzz of excitement when told, with lots of enthusiastic cheers and whoops. One Guide couldn’t stop smiling, while another gave a double thumbs up.
Girlguiding gives girls and young women their own space to have fun, be themselves, build brilliant friendships and gain skills.
