I joined Guiding at the age of 7 as a Brownie, I didn’t really want to go but because my best friend did, our mums made us go together!  Although she is still my best friend today, she only lasted until Guides and then dancing took over for her but by then I had a buzz for it and am still here today!

I went on to my Young Leader Qualification and then onto my adult leadership and during my time with Guides in Milnrow and thanks to my dear friends within Guiding, in a very short space of time I experienced many different opportunities at District, Division and County level. I was involved in the County Centenary celebrations in 2010 and the best part of that role was meeting lots of other guiders from around the County and Region and especially working with other sections.

I love being part of the Media & Communications Team! Those who know me well will know I love to speak out and am passionate to promote Girlguiding and in particular the opportunities we offer to girls in our area.  My role is to try and get these good news stories out to the world by submitting them to local media, helping others to prepare good news stories and keeping our website, Facebook & Twitter pages upto date and relevant to our members.
